Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant performs reconciliations, analyses, and prepares journal entries and various reports. Assist with monthly and annual general ledger closings and perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer. The Senior Accountant works collaboratively with manufacturing, sales, purchasing, engineering, and customers to help fulfill company contractual obligations.

 

Pay Range: $65 - $75k


Activities & Duties

  • Accounting –
    • Support the CFO in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department
    • Prepare monthly management reports, accompanying schedules and worksheets
    • Prepare month end close journal entries and reconciliations.
    • Oversee the monthly maintenance of the standard costing system
    • Collect and analyze business and production data
    • Provide follow-up and documentation of significant manufacturing variances
    • Work closely with all major functional leaders of the company
    • Maintain complete and accurate financial statements for the company
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual company operating budget
    • Prepare and file various quarterly sales tax returns Maintain organized accounting records and support for year-end financial review
  • General Duties -
    • Resolve inconsistent financial information in preparation of monthly schedules, account reconciliations, and reports
    • Prepare various ad-hoc reports for the CEO and CFO
    • Assist CFO with financial reporting as required for quarterly bank meetings


Qualifications & Skills: 


•    Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
•    Minimum 3-5 years of experience
•    Demonstrated understanding of job costing as utilized in a manufacturing environment
•    Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Proficiency using MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Professional demeanor and behavior, appropriate for an office environment
•    Detail-oriented; exhibits a keen focus and attention to detail
•    Ability to work independently, and execute accurately without excess supervision
•    Exhibits a sense of urgency; performs tasks quickly, accurately, and effectively.
