Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in evaluating and selecting vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and service.
• Create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications, pricing, and terms.
• Assist with material quoting used to create customer quotes.
• Monitor order status and follow up with suppliers on confirmations, shipping details, and delivery schedules.
• Resolve routine discrepancies related to shipments, invoices, or purchase order data.
• Support the maintenance of vendor records, pricing histories, and purchasing documentation.
• Collaborate with senior buyers, sales, and inventory teams to align purchasing activities with demand.
• Track inventory levels and reorder materials based on established guidelines.
• Input purchasing data accurately into DBA (ERP system)
• Assist with RMA processing, past-due orders, and delivery issues under supervision.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Education:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (internship or entry-level acceptable).
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Knowledge & Skills - Required:

• Basic understanding of purchasing processes and supplier management.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and team interaction.
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the role.
• Analytical mindset with basic problem-solving ability.

Confidentiality:

The Junior Buyer may be exposed to confidential company information relating to vendor/customer relationships, products, organizational growth strategies and company strategic plans. A high degree of confidentiality is required.

Work Environment:

This position requires the individual to be on-site at the Simcona Manufacturing Office location and may involve some travel to visit suppliers. This is NOT a remote work position. Overtime may be required when program schedules are challenged.
